Yeomseonjae is a jesael (ancestral shrine) of the Suncheon Kim clan, wife of Sagye Kim Jangsaeng and the 7th granddaughter of Jeoljai Kim Jongseo, built in 1882. From a young age, the Suncheon Kim clan member showed utmost filial piety; at age 17, she became a disciple of Sagye, and after his death, observed a three-year mourning period, abstaining from food and drink until she passed away. Accordingly, the Yeonsan Confucian scholars petitioned the king, and in Gwangmu 10 (1906), the state awarded her with a filial piety memorial gate and bestowed her the title of government lady. The memorial gate is notable for its ornate multi-bracket style, rare among such gates. Descendants named it 'Yeomseonjae' after inheriting the husband's ancestral shrine 'Yeomsujae.' The building, originally a small pavilion with four bays at the front and two bays on the side under an octagonal roof, was constructed in the 19th year of King Gojong's reign (1882) and expanded to its current form in 1913.
