Hyanggyo is an educational institution established by the country to honor distinguished Confucian scholars and to provide Confucian education and moral guidance to local residents. Gurye Hyanggyo was originally built in Baengnyeon-ri, northwest of Gurye-gun, in the 13th year of King Jungjong's reign (1518), but tigers appeared during the hyangsari (ritual ceremonies), so it was moved to Bongseo-ri in the 30th year of King Sukjong's reign (1704). The complex follows the typical layout of hyanggyo, with Daeseongjeon, Naesammun, East and West Jaes, Myeongnyundang, and Oesammun all facing southeast in the jeonhak-hu-myo arrangement. Outside Oesammun, there is a hamabi and a hongsalmun, indicating that anyone passing by must dismount from their horse, and there is a pond outside as well. Since the Gapogaehyeok reforms (1894), the educational function ceased, and currently, Seokjeondaeje is held in spring and autumn, with incense offerings made on the first and fifteenth days of every month. Gurye Hyanggyo is about 1 km from Gurye-gu Office, approximately an 18-minute walk.

Located near Hanaro Mart Gurye Nonghyup main branch, on the former site of Son In-pil's house, Joseon Navy Reconstruction Departure Park was created with murals, bronze relief sculptures, and pavilions depicting the reconstruction journey of the Joseon navy based on historical materials such as the Nanjung Ilgi. The murals in this park portray the 44-day journey from August 3, 1597, when General Yi Sun-sin, fighting without rank, was reappointed as the Samdosugun Tongjesa, until September 16, during which the Joseon navy was rebuilt across the Jeonnam area, leading to victory in the Battle of Myeongnyang. At that time, General Yi's forces included only nine officers such as Son In-pil and Hwang Dae-jung and six soldiers. The site where General Yi established the Tongjeyeong garrison and resolved to rebuild the navy as a departure base was Son In-pil's house. Officer Son In-pil was responsible under General Yi for procuring supplies and recruiting soldiers needed for naval reconstruction, while his son Son Eung-nam relayed urgent information. Next to Son In-pil's memorial pavilion is a large rock called Yi Sun-sin Rock, said to be where General Yi sat and contemplated the nation's direction during his stay in Gurye. To honor General Yi's devotion to saving the country, a pavilion named Gugukjeong was built.

Seosicheon Sports Park is located in Gurye-eup, Gurye-gun. It is a famous spot for cherry blossoms and also features fully bloomed forsythia flowers. There is about a 1 km walking trail around Seosicheon, which includes the Natural Child Dream Playground with age limits from 5 to 12 years old, a basketball court for adults, and a gateball field. The Natural Child Dream Playground has a giant slide and experiential play facilities such as Acorn Hill, jumping mats, zipline, rainbow swing, and sand playground. Together with the walking trail, it is a suitable place for family play and weekend relaxation. Along the Seosicheon riverside, there is the Seosicheon Sports Park bridge, walking path, and bicycle path, and nearby is Gurye Flower River, blooming with flowers all year round. It is adjacent to Gurye-gun National Sports Center and Gurye Indoor Gymnasium, and Jirisan Cheese Land is 11 km away, about a 12-minute drive, making it a good place to visit as well.
