Hakrimsa Temple is located at the foot of Gyeryongsan Mountain in Hakbong-ri, Banpo-myeon, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do. In the past, there was an old temple called Jeseoksa (帝釋寺), which was destroyed during the Imjin War and has been passed down orally in the village of Hakbong-ri. Hakrimsa was rebuilt in August 1986 by Ven. Haksan Daewon, a Dharma heir, under the guidance of the late Ven. Goam Daejongsa, former Supreme Patriarch of the Jogye Order. The temple is known for its clean environment with the clear Cheongryong Valley flowing nearby and is famous as a Templestay destination, attracting many tourists every year.
