Introduction

If you are curious about the taste of Goheung, it is recommended to visit Jungang Restaurant in Dohwa-myeon, which has shown consistent flavor for 38 years. Jungang Restaurant specializes in various seafood dishes, including seafood set menus, flower crab stew with a refreshing and clean broth, and spicy bulnak (spicy octopus and beef). In addition, you can enjoy shabu-shabu and sashimi made primarily with gaetjang-eo (marine eel), seasoned raw fish, sashimi salad, and mild and savory wild freshwater eel. The signature seafood set menus are divided into special, medium, and regular set menus. The most commonly ordered is the medium set menu, which includes gaetjang-eo sashimi, butterfish sashimi, boiled octopus, steamed yellow corvina, fermented skate combo, and king prawns, along with various side dishes such as aged kimchi and salted seafood perfect for wrapping with sashimi. Even the side dishes are well-paired with the sashimi. Jungang Restaurant features a unique flavor found nowhere else: dipping gaetjang-eo sashimi in yujacheong (citron syrup) and the 'dried gaetjang-eo steamed' dish, made by selecting only the gaetjang-eo, which cannot be served to customers. The tangy yujacheong and mild, savory seafood refresh and delicately decorate the palate. The set menu also includes flower crab stew with a refreshing and clean broth, and spicy bulnak, which are highlights of the restaurant.
