[Outstanding and majestic Bagudari Mountain] It is a mountain boasting numerous peaks that seem ready to burst. Mountains with 'Pal' (meaning eight) in their name often have remarkable peaks, but unlike Hongcheon or Seosan Palbongsan, which are small and lack grandeur, this highest peak in Goheung rises to 600 meters with eight rocky peaks, making it both outstanding and majestic. The balanced shoulders formed by the northeast ridge of the 2nd peak and the southern ridge of the 8th peak, guarded in front by the pyramidal Cheonjubong, create a perfect composition. Despite being one of the farthest mountains from the Gyeongin area, it continuously attracts visitors. In Goheung County, plaques with names have been placed on each peak: 1st peak is Yuyeongbong, 2nd is Seongjubong, 3rd Saenghwangbong, 4th Sajabong, 5th Orobong, 6th Durubong, 7th Chilseongbong, and 8th Jeokchibong. However, these names and their order are somewhat artificial; originally, only the somewhat distant 1st peak had a name, and the rest were collectively called Seongjubong. The panoramic photo point is Morung-ri, where the Jeomam township office is located. 'Jeomam' means a place with scattered rocks called 'Bagu' by locals, a terrain unique to Paryeongsan in Jeomam township. Morung-ri also has Hoegye village, known in the local language as 'Bagudari.' The original name of Paryeongsan was Bagudarimountain or Bagudari Mountain. The mountain's peaks dominate, so valleys are not well developed, but instead, there is the sea. As a mountain on the sweet potato-shaped Goheung Peninsula connected to the land, lakes-like seas spread in all directions.
The starting point is Goheung town. There are 18 county buses passing through Jeomam township office, Neunggasa entrance, Ucheon-ri, and Yeongnam township office. Buses to Goheung run six times daily from Seoul Gangnam Terminal and Busan Sasang Terminal. From Gwangju, there are 67 buses; from Suncheon, a key railway hub, 90 buses; and from Beolgyo, the gateway to Goheung, buses run every 20 minutes. By road, take Honam Expressway Suncheon IC → Beolgyo direction on National Road No. 2 → from Beolgyo to Goheung on National Road No. 15, and from Beolgyo to Goheung on the combined National Roads No. 15, 27, and 77 → from Gwaryeok to Jeomam direction on Local Road No. 855.
