Sangha Farm is an experiential rural theme park created by Maeil Dairies and Gochang-gun. It serves as a connection between the local community, farmers, and consumers, while aiming to teach children the value of rural life and the importance of natural foods. The farm integrates agricultural production, processing, distribution, and consumption, embodying the characteristics of the 6th industry, which combines primary (agriculture and livestock), secondary (manufacturing), and tertiary (services) industries. Visitors can taste, purchase, and personally experience the process of making organic food using eco-friendly ingredients. The experience classrooms allow children to make sausages, animal-shaped cookies, and organic ice cream. In the fruit, ham, bread, and fermentation workshops, visitors can watch local farmers' ingredients being processed through large glass windows. Additionally, visitors can feed and interact with animals such as sheep, goats, dairy cows, and sika deer on verdant pastures. Sangha Kitchen and the Farm Restaurant serve healthy meals made from fresh ingredients sourced from the ham workshop and local specialties like grilled eel rice bowls from Gochang. Farmers Village is an eco-friendly hotel located on a hill overlooking Sangha Farm, offering a farm stay experience in pure natural surroundings.
The largest beach in Gochang-gun, featuring a long and wide white sandy beach and dense pine groves. The gentle slope of the beach makes it ideal for family vacations. To the south of the white sand beach, there is a natural cave where dozens of residents and hundreds of mountain pigeons took refuge for half a year during the Japanese invasions of Korea (Jeongyujaeran). The coastal area is scattered with strange rock formations. Beautiful islands, including Gamak Island, float on the sea in front, and at sunset you can see the sunset coloring the West Sea Chil-san sea red. It is also a popular beach for people who enjoy auto camping. Various convenience facilities are well equipped nearby.
This is the birthplace of Bojeong Kim Jeonghoe (1903–1970), a scholar and artist descended from Kim Sahyeong, a founding merit of the Joseon dynasty. The old house is located in Dosan Village, a long-standing settlement of the Andong Kim and Cheongdo Kim clans, where many old houses remain, with Kim Jeonghoe Old House being the oldest among them. The house consists of the main quarters (anchae), the guest quarters (sarangchae), the outer quarters (munganche), the ancestral shrine (sadang), and storage rooms (gotgan). The anchae has 6 rooms across the front and 3 rooms on the side, featuring a paljak-style roof with the side shaped like the character for eight (팔자). One room was later added to each side. The architectural style of the anchae, elevated above the inner courtyard, is unique compared to other houses. The sarangchae, located in front of the anchae, has 4 rooms in front and 3 on the side with a paljak-style roof. The haengnangchae, believed to have been built much later than the anchae and sarangchae, has 3 rooms in front and 2 on the side with a simple gable roof shaped like the person character (인). Storage rooms stand on both sides of the anchae, and the ancestral shrine is located behind. This is a typical upper-class house built in the late Joseon period, still occupied by descendants. External viewing is possible, and internal viewing requires prior inquiry about availability.
