Located in Geolpo-dong, Gimpo-si, Geolpo Central Park is a representative rest park of Gimpo established in 2006 with the theme of a cultural park containing Gimpo's history and future. With an area of over 150,000㎡, 70,000 trees including pine and spiraea have been planted. Along the straight central path, themed walking trails, flower fields, and gardens are created under the themes of Flower Light Place, Water Light Place, and Star Light Place. In summer, the central water fountain plaza operates as a ground fountain playground, and the Eunha Forest Waterfall operates as a water play area, loved by families. Children can safely enjoy water play with water depth up to the ankles. Near the Eunha Forest spring, flat seating areas with shade shelters are available, with one space allowed per family. Cooking and camping are prohibited, and the park is open only during daytime. In addition, the park has badminton, jokgu, basketball, volleyball, multi-purpose futsal courts, and a traditional Korean archery range where visitors can experience archery. The soccer field is equipped with artificial turf to allow safe play throughout all seasons. Along the Gyeyangcheon stream, a bicycle path continues, and the beautiful flower fields and gardens throughout the park make it a perfect place to enjoy a stroll, like an oasis in the city.
Laveniche Machi Avenue, located in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, is a street set along the artificial waterway called Geumbit Canal, created as a waterfront space where all Gimpo citizens can visit, enjoy, and relax. Connected to the canal, Laveniche is a representative tourist attraction of Gimpo, where modern-style commercial buildings and beautiful waterfront areas blend to evoke an exotic atmosphere. Along Geumbit Canal, visitors can use various cultural and convenience facilities for citizens such as water leisure facilities (Moon Boat), musical fountains, picnic plazas, shopping malls, and walking paths. Recopark stands for (Recycle+Eco+Friendly+Park) and is a new name for a sewage treatment plant that treats sewage into clean water, beautifies the environment, and serves as a resting space for citizens. It is a sewage treatment facility located above or underground that also utilizes extra space by incorporating sports facilities. It is a theme park that transforms sewage treatment plants into sports facilities for residents' leisure activities. In addition to Gimpo Recopark, there are also ones in Tongjin and Gochon. There are light walking trails around the gateball and park golf courses, offering beautiful scenery.
Modam Park is a park developed around Modamsan Mountain while creating a new town in Unyang-dong. It is the largest park in Gimpo-si, with Unyang Station to the north, Unyang-dong cafe street to the south, and Gimpo Hanok Village and Gimpo Art Village to the east. On the west side of the park is the famous Modam Waterfall, which cools the summer heat, and fitness facilities are installed throughout. Following the theme, Modam Park offers many small attractions, allowing families to enjoy a leisurely walk along the forest trail past the local heritage site Sim-eung Sadang up to the observatory. Sim-eung Sadang is a shrine dedicated to General Shim Eung, a mid-Joseon Dynasty military officer Yang Hogong Shim Eung, whose gravesite and stele are located on Modamsan. ※ Pets allowed (must have a leash and bring waste bags).
Located within the Gimpo Hangang Wild Bird Ecological Park Eco Center, this path leads to Yonghwasa Temple and offers a walk along the fences surrounding the Hangang River. The park’s embankment road, previously part of National Road 48 and the embankment road in old Gimpo, has been reborn as 'Sasik-gil,' providing a walking course of about two hours round trip. While walking, visitors can enjoy the clean natural environment where wild birds live.
Located along the wide Hangang River, this park features green wetlands and vast fields where the lively flapping of migratory birds tells ecological stories. With engaging ecological experiences and walking paths that soothe tired minds, this place is the largest ecological park in the metropolitan area, Gimpo Hangang Wild Bird Ecology Park. Spanning approximately 567,051㎡, it was created to preserve and manage the ecology and habitats of wild birds in the crescent-shaped farmland frequently visited by migratory birds, developed alongside the Gimpo Hangang New Town. Visitors can observe various migratory birds such as greater white-fronted geese, bean geese, and hooded cranes. The atmosphere of the Hangang River felt while walking along the waterway and the beautiful landscape of the ecological park allow both birds and people to enjoy relaxing comfort.
