Sahyeonsa Temple in Sandong-ri, Gimje-si, was established in 1934 as a family shrine for the Bongseong On (溫) clan, originally built in Daeyul-ri. The shrine, built for the Bongseong On clan in 1934, was moved from Daeyul-ri to its current location in Sandong-ri, Geumgu-myeon, Gimje-si, in 1967 due to the construction and flooding caused by Daeyul Reservoir. This shrine enshrines Onshin as the central figure, along with Onrim, Onyoon, and Onhu. Notably, altars for General Ondal and General Ongunhae are installed there. Onshin, a descendant of Generals Ondal and Ongunhae, was exiled to Bongseong (present Geumgu-myeon) during King Gongmin of Goryeo's reign after reporting the corrupt administration of the monk Shindon as a Jwau-gilssirang, which led to his descendants settling in Geumgu-myeon Sandong-ri and other locations. In 1934, local Confucian scholars built Sahyeonsa to commemorate the generals' achievements forever, holding memorial rites annually on the 15th day of the ninth lunar month. Within Sahyeonsa’s grounds stands a shrine and lecture hall with a three-bay front and three-bay side, featuring a gable roof.

Gwaneungsa is a temple belonging to the Daehan Buddhism Gwaneumjong sect located near Geumcheon Lake on the way from Gimje to Jeonju. There is a legend associated with the temple site, known colloquially as Gaksigol. It is said that a young bride entered the deep mountains, which intrigued the local villagers who followed her but found she disappeared at the present temple site, prompting them to build a temple there. It is also believed that praying sincerely to the Gwaneum Bodhisattva at this place grants wishes, and this site is also called Gaksigol. This legend continues to be passed down, attracting many Buddhists. The temple was reportedly founded as a small hermitage in 1936, though the founder is unknown. Around 1985, Jinsung Jeong Gongjin became head monk and renovated the temple by enshrining the Daeungjeon, monks' quarters, Samseonggak, and Mireukbul, revitalizing the temple's appearance.
