Hoedong Reservoir | Attraction Guide | K-Travel Mate

Hoedong Reservoir is an artificial reservoir created in the late 1930s to resolve water shortages caused by drought. It is located in Busan's Geumjeong-gu Oryun-dong and Hoedong areas, where the Suyeong River, originating from a southern valley of Wonhyosan in Yangsan-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, meets Cheolma Stream. The area around Hoedong Reservoir was designated as a water source protection zone in 1964 and was opened to the public in 2010, after 45 years. The 'Cultural Hiking Trip to Ttanmoesan with Humanities' organized by Busan Geumjeong District Office is conducted along the Ttanmoesan Hwangto Forest Trail created alongside the reservoir. Known as a treasure trove of ecology, the Ttanmoesan Hwangto Forest Trail is a scenic section of Busan Galmaetgil Route 8-1, connecting Sanghyeon Village and Dongcheon Bridge. The approximately 1 km flat path is easy to walk for everyone.
