Near Dongducheon Central Station Exit 1, along the 5060 Food Culture Street, is Hwangju Saenggogi. It is a Korean beef raw meat specialty restaurant that has been operated by three generations for over 50 years since 1968 in the alley of Jeilsangga in the old Dongducheon area. Featured on the 2017 TV variety show 'Delicious Guys' (episode 136), it is famous for Hwanghae-do Hwangju-style cuisine. Only fresh, non-frozen special cuts are grilled over white charcoal to enjoy the unique flavor of Korean beef. Yukhoe and yuk sashimi are sold only for two days—the day the meat arrives and the following day—to ensure freshness. The dongchimi served as a side dish is refreshing, and the bibim guksu is flavorful. ※ Pets are not allowed (except guide dogs).
