Geumsusan⛰️ 1016 m

Introduction

[A Mountain Forming a Silk Wave by Cheongpung Lake] Geumsusan (1015.8m) features beautiful mountain terrain with deep valleys and dramatic cliffs, attracting hikers year-round. Surrounded by lush greenery resembling a silk cloth, the clear sounds of the valley streams, waterfall noises, flowers, greenery, autumn foliage, and snowy landscapes each season showcase its beauty. Originally called Baegunsan, it was renamed Geumsusan by Toegye Yi Hwang, a former governor of Danyang County, who admired it as 'beautiful as embroidery on silk.' Geumsusan, bordering Cheongpung Lake, extends north to Jecheon city and south to Malmoksan in Danyang, forming a fairly long mountain range. Along the main ridge are several mountains at 700-800 meters elevation, including Jakseongsan, Dongsan, and Malmoksan. Branching westward are ridges with notable peaks such as Jungbong, Sinseonbong, Jeoseungbong, and Mangdeokbong.
