Haengdamdo is a large island located in Sinpyeong-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungnam. At low tide, tidal flats are exposed, expanding the island to more than twice its usual size. The origin of the name is as follows: 'Haeng' means that during the baekjoongsari, when tidal differences are greatest, the tidal flats dry up allowing people to walk from the mainland to the island. 'Dam' means that it is usually submerged underwater. The Seohae Grand Bridge, completed in 2000 during the construction of Seohaean Expressway, passes through this island, and Haengdamdo rest area was established here. It is the most frequently visited rest area and one of the top in sales among rest areas nationwide. Along with the rest area, a large outlet store is located here, allowing visitors to shop and sightsee. Additionally, visitors can take a walk while enjoying the vast scenery of the sea in front of Haengdamdo.
