Hapdeok Catholic Church is a Catholic church located south of Hapdeok-eup, Dangjin-si. It is the first parish in Chungcheong Province, originally established as Yangchon Church in Sanggung-ri, Godeok-myeon, Yesan-gun, before relocating to its current location in 1899 and being renamed Hapdeok Catholic Church. Later, in 1929, Father Perang built a new church building in Gothic style. This church, situated on a low hill, is characterized by its twin bell towers on the front. The front of the building has three entrances and three windows, all topped with rainbow-shaped arches. The exterior walls are made of red bricks, with gray bricks surrounding the windows and at the corners of the bell towers, and there are diamond-shaped gray brick decorations below the windows and on each face of the bell towers. Hapdeok Catholic Church can be accessed southward from National Routes 32, 40 and Provincial Roads 70, 622, and via Deokpyeong-ro. The closest expressways are Dangjin-Yeongdeok Expressway Godeok IC and Seohaean Expressway Dangjin IC. Public transportation includes Hapdeok Bus Terminal, and the Seohae Line Hapdeok Station is planned to open in the future. Nearby attractions include Solmoe Holy Ground, Hapdeok Jesu Riverside Park, and Hapdeok Irrigation Folk Museum.
