Our proud warship, once commanding the vast ocean, has been honorably retired and transformed into a unique space at Sapgyoho Naval Vessel Park where visitors can experience the history and culture of the Navy and Marine Corps. The park features themed exhibition halls on the Navy and Marine Corps, displays inside and outside the ship, and aircraft, allowing children to develop a fascination with the sea and a sense of closeness to the Navy and Marines. Additionally, the 3D theater, game center, carnival plaza, and indoor amusement facilities offer a chance to temporarily forget everything and enjoy the joyful world of childhood. The park’s distinctive resting area, the ship café, provides enjoyment and richness to life.

Solmoe is located in the center of ‘Naepo,’ the best land in Chungcheong Province, and means ‘a small hill covered with pine trees.’ Here, on August 21, 1821, the first Korean priest, Saint Kim Daegeon Andrea, was born and lived until he was seven years old, when he moved with his grandfather Kim Taekhyun to Handuk-dong in Yongin (now Golbaemasil) to escape persecution. Moreover, this place was home to four generations of martyrs: his great-grandfather Kim Jinhu (martyred in 1814), great-uncle Kim Han-hyun (martyred in 1816), father Kim Jejun (martyred in 1839), and Kim Daegeon himself (martyred in 1846). Father Kim was selected as a seminarian in Golbaemasil and studied abroad in Macau; in 1845, he was ordained a priest by Bishop Ferreol at the Kimgahang Cathedral in Shanghai and returned to Korea in October of that year. After returning, he served around Yongin but was executed by beheading in September 1846 at Saenamteo at the age of 26. In May 1984, during Pope John Paul II’s visit to Korea, he was canonized. Under the shade of pine trees at Solmoe Holy Ground stand a statue of Father Kim Daegeon and a memorial tower; below is a retreat house that can accommodate about 100 individuals and groups. Recently, a memorial hall and a church housing Father Kim Daegeon’s relics were newly built and are in operation, providing detailed information about him and Solmoe Holy Ground.

Agroland Taesin Ranch was established in 1968, marking the beginning of Korea's dairy industry, and relocated to its current site in 1978. Since 2004, it has been the first in the country to operate a dairy experience farm, opening the ranch to the public for hands-on encounters with various livestock. It offers a pastoral landscape of green meadows and a place to experience life with cows in nature. Facilities include a ranch experience area, horseback riding area, sculpture park, wildflower garden, pasture experience area, ecological pond and walking trails, animal farm, love parrot enclosure, Korean beef pasture, thujamiro maze, and snack bar. Experience programs include tractor train rides, milking cows, ranch activities, horseback riding, and ice cream making. Nearby attractions include Myeoncheon Eupseong, Myeoncheon Hyanggyo, Myeoncheon Reservoir, Hapdeokje Waterside Park, and Hapdeok Water Management Folk Museum.

Myeoncheon Eupseong is a plains fortress located in the Myeoncheon-eup area of Dangjin-si. It was historically part of a sea route to China through Dangjin, Seosan, and Taean. Important for trade with China, it also served as a key military stronghold since the Baekje period. The current fortress was built in 1439 (Sejong 21) and functioned as a military and administrative center until the late Joseon period. The walls are constructed with well-shaped natural stones; the exterior is stone masonry, and the interior is filled with stones covered by soil. The present circumference of the walls is 1,336m, while the original length including bastions and citadels is estimated at about 1,564m. This fortress is an excellent example of Joseon dynasty fortress construction standards, equipped with four main gates in the east, west, south, and north. Inside the fortress are a ginkgo tree designated as a natural monument, Gunja Pavilion, and a retro street. Each spring, the Myeoncheon Azalea Folk Festival is held here. The fortress is accessible via local roads 70, 609, and 619, and is near the Dangjin-Yeongdeok Expressway Myeoncheon IC. Nearby are Goljeong Reservoir, Myeoncheon Hyanggyo, and the Goryeo Foundation Merit and General Welfare Site.
