Daegu steamed buns after refreshing water play

Daegu offers a variety of famous local foods, and steamed buns cannot be left out. After enjoying refreshing water activities and hot springs at Spa Valley, it's the perfect way to satisfy your hunger. The warm steamed buns, with white steam rising from the steamer, whet your appetite regardless of summer or winter. The alley of steamed buns, as kind as the white buns themselves, features stores that donate a fixed amount each month, making the taste of the steamed buns feel even warmer.

Gachang Steamed Bun Alley is located in Gachang-myeon, Dalseong-gun, Daegu Metropolitan City. It gathers along the main road leading to Gachang Dam and around Gachang-ro, which heads to the Gachang-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, accessed from Sincheon-daero towards Gachang and Cheongdo from the Daegu direction. Known for its delicious steamed buns among citizens and tourists traveling from Suseong-gu Padong to Gachang Naengcheon (Spa Valley), Gachang Dam, Heolti-jae, and Cheongdo, the alley's history began in 2000 when a steamed bun shop opened opposite the Gachang-myeon Office. Over 20 years later, nine steamed bun shops have formed the alley. It gained fame after being first featured on Daegu local broadcasts, appearing on several programs nationwide and becoming a well-known Daegu specialty street. Gachang steamed buns have established themselves as a representative brand of Dalseong, Daegu. Each shop boasts its own characteristics and strengths, securing regular customers and creating lines of buyers. In winter, the white steam rising from steaming dumplings and buns covers the street, proving that this is indeed Gachang Moragmorag Steamed Bun Alley.

Located in Gachang-myeon, Dalseong-gun, Daegu, Park Ji-yeon's Gachang Old-fashioned Steamed Bread Main Store is a famous steamed bread shop in the Daegu area selling jjimppang, a representative Korean snack and traditional food. Established in 2000 as the first jjimppang store in Gachang, this shop influenced the opening of nearby stores selling steamed bread, steamed buns, and dumplings, forming a jjimppang street. After local Daegu broadcasts featured the jjimppang street, it gained popularity and became renowned as a specialized alley, largely due to Park Ji-yeon's store as the original shop of Gachang Jjimppang Street. For over 20 years, the store has maintained same-day production and sales at a single location. The jjimppang made by hand from dough is very popular. Main menu items are steamed bread and handmade dumplings, attracting many repeat customers who queue to buy them. Recently, they have started accepting orders through their website and established a jjimppang research center to develop new menus and products.
