📍 Daejeon광역시 Dong-gu Chudong 331
Chudong Artificial Ecological Wetland was designated as a wetland protection area by Daejeon City on December 26, 2008, and is home to endangered species such as the natural monument otter, the natural monument mandarin duck, as well as the black-winged stilt, white-necked watercock, and narrow-mouth toad. Emerging as a travel destination within slow culture, Chudong Artificial Ecological Wetland plays a self-purifying role by absorbing various polluted waters flowing from the surroundings and purifying pollutants through the plants, animals, microorganisms, and soil that make up the wetland, then releasing clean water. Because many types of organisms live together, it has high biodiversity and plays an ecologically important role. Course 6 of the Daechung Lake trail in Dong-gu passes through this ecotourism hotspot developed around the wetland.
