Located a 5-minute walk from Daegu Jungangno Station, Gyeongsang Gamyeong Park was created to preserve the site of the Gyeongsang Gamyeong from the Joseon period under King Seonjo. From 1910 to 1965, the Gyeongsangbuk-do provincial office was located here, and after the provincial office moved, the site was developed into a park in 1970. The Gyeongsang Gamyeong was an administrative organization in charge of administration, military, and judiciary affairs of Gyeongsang Province during the Joseon Dynasty. Within the old Gyeongsang Gamyeong, there were several buildings including Seonhwadang, Eunghyangdang, Jeseungdang, Eungsudang, and Jingcheonggak. Currently, only Seonhwadang (Gyeongsang Province Governor’s office, designated Daegu Metropolitan City Tangible Cultural Property) and Jingcheonggak (residential building, likewise a designated cultural property) remain within the park. Seonhwadang is highly valued as a precious resource since most government buildings from the period no longer exist. The pavilion Gwanpungnu (Daegu Metropolitan City Cultural Heritage Material) was moved to Dalseong Fortress in 1906. A total of 29 commemorative stones honoring the benevolence of the governor and Daegu magistrate remain in the park. Gyeongsang Gamyeong Park combines the historic buildings of Seonhwadang and Jingcheonggak with green forest within the city, featuring a main gate reflecting traditional architectural beauty, a fountain, stone walls, walking paths, and the Unification Bell which prays for the unification of the nation. Located in the center of Daegu’s downtown, it has also been referred to as Central Park.

Located in Jung-gu, Daegu, Seosangdon Old House was the home of Seosangdon, a late Joseon-era entrepreneur, government official, and nationalist independence activist. He succeeded in Daegu as a peddler and cloth merchant and later served as a government grain tax inspector managing tax grain. In 1907, believing that the government was losing national sovereignty due to heavy debts to Japan, he launched the National Debt Repayment Movement with Kim Gwang-je, president of Daegu Gwangmunsa, aiming to repay the country's debt through voluntary savings. Daegu City restored Seosangdon's birthplace, which was next to the Sanghwa Old House in Gyesan-dong, created National Debt Repayment Park, and erected a statue to honor his noble ideals.

Momyeongjae is a memorial hall established by the Durung Du clan to honor Du Sachung, who participated as a Ming dynasty military aide during the Imjin War and later naturalized in Joseon. 'Momyeongjae' means longing for his homeland, the Ming dynasty. Du Sachung, originally from Durung in China, was dispatched to Joseon as a general under Ming admiral Yi Yeosong when the Imjin War broke out. He held the post of water-and-land topographic division officer, responsible for finding suitable locations for military camps, and served as Yi Yeosong's top advisor, closely coordinating strategy and tactics with the Joseon army. After the war ended, he returned home but rejoined the fight during the later Japanese invasion (Jeongyu War) alongside his sons Du San and Du Ilgeon and his brother-in-law, Commander Jin Lin. After the war, Du Sachung and his sons naturalized in Joseon, and the royal court granted him land around central Daegu's Jungang Park (present-day Gyeongsang Gamyeong Park). When the Gyeongsang Gamyeong was later built on this land, Du Sachung gave up his property and relocated to Gyesandong. Missing his wife and siblings left behind in his homeland, he moved under Mt. Choe Jeongsan (now Daedeok-san) and named the village 'Daemyeongdong.' He is said to have built an altar there and paid respects every new moon facing the Ming Emperor in the Forbidden City. Momyeongjae is a square-shaped building facing south, with a four-bay front and two-bay depth, featuring a double-eaved hipped-and-gabled roof. The central hall is flanked by ondol-heated rooms on each side, with a half-bay front porch. This building is a good example of early 20th-century memorial hall architecture in the Daegu area. Momyeongjae was built in front of Du Sachung's tomb by descendants who relocated lumber from the Gyeongsan guesthouse after its demolition in 1912, and the worn building was restored in 1966. It is known as the first place Chinese tourists visit when coming to Daegu and has recently been renovated through redevelopment projects.
