Wangbeodeunamu Colony | Attraction Guide | K-Travel Mate

Wangbeodeunamu Colony is a place where Wangbeodeunamu trees naturally grow along the main stream of the Geum River near Daecheong Dam and Geumgang Lohas Daecheong Park. Designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization as a scenic green spot ideal for photography, it offers a spectacular view when the sunlight and morning mist blend at sunrise and sunset. Especially, the dawn mist and reflections combined with the Wangbeodeunamu trees create a landscape reminiscent of the utopian Murungdo. It is also known as a filming location of the 2014 movie "The Fatal Encounter." It is said in mountain villages that goblins appear, often where wilting willows in wetlands emit light at night; here, too, you can sometimes see the willows glowing at night. Nearby attractions include Cheongnamdae, Yongho-dong Paleolithic Site, and Sintanjin Market (open on 3rd and 8th days).
