Attraction ·

Gyeonggang Makguksu is located in a small alley between the ski shops in front of Gyeonggang Station. Known as one of the famous restaurants not only in Gyeonggang but also in Chuncheon, this place specializes only in suyuk (boiled pork slices) and makguksu (buckwheat noodles), yet it is always crowded with customers. Unlike other makguksu places, they make their noodles from 100% buckwheat. The key feature of this restaurant is that they never prepare noodles or slice suyuk in advance. Only after receiving an order do they freshly make the noodles in the right amount and slice the suyuk. While waiting after ordering, you can watch them kneading the buckwheat dough and pulling out the noodles in the kitchen. Besides à la carte dishes, there is a course menu that includes tofu, potato pancakes, pyeonyuk (sliced boiled meat), and makguksu together. The suyuk is chewy yet tender, and the makguksu topped with shredded lettuce, buckwheat sprouts, boiled egg, radish kimchi, and sprinkled with sesame salt has the unique texture of buckwheat noodles that break off easily with a savory flavor. The seasoning is prepared to taste and can be added in a suitable amount to the noodles. Located just a 1-minute walk from Gangchon Rail Bike, it is perfect as a travel course.
