칠곡호국평화기념관은 6ㆍ25전쟁 동안 일어난 수많은 전투 가운데, 55일간의 낙동강 방어선 전투를 통해 전세를 역전시키고 대한민국을 지켜낸 낙동강 방어선 전투의 최대 격전지인 칠곡에 위치한 기념관이다.

1981년 11월 30일 경상북도 칠곡군 가산면 다부리에 개관하였으며, 기념관이 들어선 곳은 1950년 6·25전쟁 때 가장 치열한 다부동전투가 벌어졌던 격전지로 알려져 있다.

Built in 1928, St. Benedictine Waegwan Monastery was established by German Benedictine monks who fled to South Korea during the Korean War. Following the spirit of Saint Benedict, it is a monastic community dedicated to "work and prayer," founded for Catholic missionary work and social projects. Around the Korean War, the St. Cross Monastery in Yanji, Manchuria, and the Deokwon Monastery in North Korea were closed by the communist regime, and due to religious persecution, they relocated here. The monastery building was constructed in 1955, and the number of monks greatly increased. The Waegwan Monastery operates education institutions including Sunshim Middle School, Sunshim Girls' Middle School, and Sunshim High School, as well as the Bundo Publishing House, Bundo Printing, Bundo Pastoral Center, Bundo Farm, and a retreat center.
