The exact founding date of Jeongsan Hyanggyo is uncertain, but records suggest it has existed since the early Joseon period. It includes Myeongnyundang, a lecture hall, dormitories for students known as Dongjae and Seojae, Ganghakru, Jeonsacheong, and Daeseongjeon, the sacrificial hall housing memorial tablets. Inside Daeseongjeon, memorial tablets of Confucius, his disciples, and Korean sages are enshrined. At the entrance to the Hyanggyo is a pavilion called Cheongaru with two stories; the first floor's doors and sides are all paneled woodwork, above which is painted a Taegeuk symbol. Sacrificial rites are held in spring and autumn, incense offerings on the first and fifteenth of each lunar month, and traditional culture experience programs are offered to Cheongyang-gun youth.
