Cheongsong Oiljang (Five-Day Market) began as a guesthouse operation during the Joseon Dynasty period of Cheongsong Dohobu and evolved into a regular market in the 1920s. On normal days, it is just a quiet rural marketplace, but on market days, merchants gather from early morning to trade various local agricultural products including Cheongsong's specialty apples, chili peppers, and doenjang (fermented soybean paste). The Cheongsong market opens on the 4th and 9th of every month, stretching about 200 to 300 meters along the roadside from the intercity bus terminal in front of Korea Telecom in Cheongsong-eup. In Cheongsong-gun, there are six such oiljang markets: Jinbojang (3rd, 8th), Bunan-jang (3rd, 8th), Dopyeongjang (5th, 10th), Andeokjang (4th, 9th), and Hwameokjang (Hyunseo-jang, 1st, 6th), with Cheongsong market being the largest among them.
