Chojeong Yaksu Sejong Spatel | Attraction Guide

Chojeong Yaksu Sejong Spatel is located in Chojeong-ri, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, and is a spatel with a concept focused on health and healing. It goes beyond the concept of accommodation, offering a carbonated mineral spring source bath sauna, oak wood fire loess hanjeungmak (Korean sauna), an outdoor bath surrounded by nature for a healing experience, and a spacious cafe for relaxing comfortably. Chojeong Yaksu is one of the world's three major carbonated mineral springs and is renowned for its efficacy, as King Sejong the Great stayed at the palace built here for 67 days and treated his eye disease. Even now, many people visit for its effects on various ailments such as high blood pressure and diabetes. The hanjeungmak is designed with loess bricks and uses only oak wood firewood, providing hot hanjeungmak baths at 70–80°C with infrared effects from directly heating the oak wood in the furnace. After the hanjeungmak, there are separate outdoor baths for men and women. After descending from the hanjeungmak, there is a healing cafe with a resting area for sleep and private rooms exclusively for families, offering spaces not found in other jjimjilbangs. It is a place to heal in nature while taking care of your health.
