Sukseolbang is a traditional confectionery research institute founded with the motif of a small kitchen that made only banquet food during the Joseon Dynasty. It develops traditional desserts using agricultural products from the Cheongju area with recipes suited to modern times, processing, producing, and selling handmade Korean desserts. In Cheongju, there are various types of rice cakes and snacks documented in old records. Among them, glutinous rice cakes coated with egg powder are representative, reflecting a mother’s heart who made them for her young children when eggs were scarce. This story has been told through these age-old rice cakes and organized into a tourism product unique to Cheongju. Additionally, dessert lunch boxes composed of rice cakes, snacks, and traditional drinks can be ordered for small gatherings or meetings. Considering all Sukseolbang products are handmade desserts produced upon order, purchases require consultation and advance reservation.
