Hwangnyeongsan (荒嶺山) is a mountain that wraps around the heart of Busan, offering a lush green forest like a gift. It provides forest trails, wind, and sky for hikers who enjoy walking, and presents a magnificent world of lights for tourists who enjoy night views. It is also a typical urban mountain of Busan, marking the boundary between Busanjin-gu, Nam-gu, and Suyeong-gu. With an elevation of 427 meters, it is the second highest mountain in the Geumryeon mountain range. The hiking area is not very large, so it can be climbed in about 2 to 3 hours. The eastern side, which borders Nam-gu, has been popular as an early morning hiking spot for nearby residents and a date course for couples, while the western side borders Busanjin-gu. The northwestern foothills include Yangjeong-dong and Jeonpo-dong in the center. At this mountain foothill, a resting place for Busan citizens and a training ground for youth have opened. Hwangnyeongsan and Geumryeonsan can be climbed from Mangmi, Yeonsan, Yangjeong, Jeonpo, and Daeyeon-dong. The choice of route depends on convenience considering transportation.
