Jeonggeo Village, known as a quiet and cozy fishing village mural cultural village, is a coastal fishing village on the small island Nulcha-do adjacent to Gadukdo in Gangseo-gu. To the east of Jeonggeo Village is a place where waves are strong and boats easily capsize, so boats wait with anchors until the waves calm; this place was called 'Datgeori' and later named Jeonggeo Village using hanja 停 (stay), 巨 (big), 里 (village). The route passes Cheongagyo Bridge connecting Gadukdo and Nulcha-do. Selected as a New Deal pilot area of Busan in 2013, it was developed into a mural village and eco-cultural village featuring murals on fences of about 60 households. While mural villages are usually located on mountains, this fishing village features many murals related to fishing villages and various murals perfectly capturing the fishing village scenery. The murals depict simple and heartwarming scenes like children scribbling on walls or playing on iron bars, with colorful and pretty murals in every alley creating a bright atmosphere. Since residents live here, it is best to visit quietly without causing inconvenience to them. It is a cultural village ideal for quiet, intimate outings with family.
