Haepyeong Reservoir | Attraction Guide | K-Travel Mate

Haepyeong Reservoir is surrounded by Boseong Obongsan (343m). It is mainly used for agricultural water and features the ‘Obongsan Haepyeong Lake Trail,’ a 4 km path around the reservoir that attracts many visitors. The site includes diverse and beautiful forest walking paths such as a hinoki cypress forest, bamboo forest, metasequoia path, and maple tree path, as well as waterfront trails, making it a popular travel destination in Boseong. The trail starting from the dam deck is mostly flat except for a slight uphill and rocky sections, allowing for a comfortable walk. Along the deck trail, stone towers stand by the water and forest edges, and in autumn, the pink muhly grass fields combined with blue skies and green trees create a dreamy atmosphere. The lake trail, planted with various tree species and wildflowers, offers a healing space to refresh body and mind and forget everyday fatigue. It is located 10 minutes by car and 4.5 km from Deungnyang Station, making it convenient to also visit the nostalgic streets nearby.
