Boeun Dongheon is a Joseon Dynasty government office located at the site of the old Boeun Police Station in Samsan-ri. Though the exact construction date is uncertain, it is said to have been repaired during King Sunjo's reign. Dongheon, also called Aheon, was the central building of the government office where the magistrate or governor handled public affairs during the Joseon period. Boeun Dongheon served as the office of local magistrates but was seized by the Japanese military police in 1907 during suppression of the Righteous Army activities in Boeun-gun and has since been used as a police station. The internal structure changed significantly when it was used as the Boeun Police Station, but it is estimated to have been built in the late 17th century. The building is a wooden tile-roofed structure with a seven-bay front, three-bay side, double-eaved hipped-and-gabled roof, classified as an Ikkoong-style building. Inside, the floor plan is distinctively arranged: the entire front one bay is a wooden floor, the right four bays form the main hall (daecheong), and the left three bays are ondol rooms. A raised wooden floor (numaru) was created by elevating the eastern one bay of the daecheong and the rear, a feature of late Joseon Dongheon buildings. Alongside Taein Dongheon, it shows outstanding variety in spatial configuration and window decorations. It was restored to its original form in 1983 and remains so today. In front of the Dongheon, six memorial steles commemorating former county magistrates or governors scattered throughout the jurisdiction were relocated and erected in 1988.

Boeun Hyanggyo was established during the reign of King Sejong of Joseon to preserve the memorial tablets of local Confucian scholars and to provide education and moral instruction for the local people. It was rebuilt and repaired several times after King Injo's era. Existing buildings include Daeseongjeon and Myeongnyundang. Myeongnyundang was relocated from the lecture hall of Sanghyeon Seowon, which was abolished under the Daewon-gun's abolition decree of seowon in 1871. It is a wooden structure with five bays front and two bays side, featuring a gabled roof. Daeseongjeon enshrines memorial tablets of the Five Sages, the Ten Virtuous Ones, the Six Worthies of the Song Dynasty, and 18 Korean worthies. During the Joseon period, the state provided land, texts, and slaves, and instructors taught students, but after the Gabo Reform, the educational function ceased, and now rites are held in spring and autumn with offerings on the first and fifteenth of each lunar month. The collection includes written works such as Sunamjip and records of Confucius’ achievements. Currently, one Jeongyo and five Jangui oversee operations.
