Ssanggyesa Temple is located on the northern side of Daebu Island in Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do. There are no other facilities around Ssanggyesa, making it quiet and peaceful as the temple stands alone. Ssanggyesa is situated at Daebu Bukdong 1058, Ansan-si and is affiliated with the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It was originally part of Ongjin-gun but was incorporated into Ansan-si after administrative reorganization in 1994. Daebu Island, where Ssanggyesa is located, was once one of the largest islands on the west coast but became accessible by car after the completion of the Sihwa Sea Wall. When entering Daebu Island via the Sihwa Sea Wall, wide views of Sihwa Lake appear on the left and the endless horizon of the sea on the right, creating the feeling of floating on the sea. The sea wall stretches about 6 km, providing a refreshing, open atmosphere. The area around the wall is popular among many anglers who enjoy sea fishing. Upon entering Daebu Island, numerous restaurants specializing in seafood and clam kalguksu line both sides, offering the taste of the sea. Ssanggyesa faces east and is placed suitably within the terrain of Daegumsan Mountain. The exact founding date is unclear but is believed to be around the 16th century, with several reconstructions over time. At the right corner within the temple area, there is a strange-shaped rock from which mineral water continuously springs. This mineral water is closely related to the temple’s founding legend. Legend says that the monk Chwihul rested here on the mountainside and dreamed of five dragons ascending to heaven. Upon waking and digging beneath the dragon rock, he found clear water gushing out. Believing this to be the Buddha’s teaching, he established a hermitage here called Jeongsuam, meaning clear water hermitage, which later became Ssanggyesa. The mineral water is rich in iron and carbonic acid and is said to be effective for stomach ailments, skin diseases, and various other illnesses, making it popular among visitors.

Daebu Haesol-gil is a walking trail that circles Daebu Island along the coastline, consisting of 10 courses totaling 91 km, allowing you to fully enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery of Ansan Daebu Island. Daebu Haesol-gil starts from Bangameori Ferry Terminal and connects Gubongdo, Daebunamdong, Seongamdo, Tando Port, and Daesong Complex. Among these, Course 1, which runs from Bangameori to Donjiseom An-gil, is the most visited highlight of Daebu Haesol-gil, featuring a magnificent Haesol forest surrounding the wide West Sea mudflats like a folding screen. Gubongdo Sunset Observatory, connected by an ant-waisted bridge over the sea road, is a very popular spot for photographers to admire the beautiful sunset and is attracting attention as a walkway to cross the sea path.

Gubong Pine Forest Beach is a beach located in Daebubuk-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do. Visitors can enjoy swimming and mudflat experiences, and it is famous as a sunset spot on Daebu Island where you can appreciate beautiful sunsets. There are cafes and restaurants in front of the beach where you can have a meal or rest while viewing the sea. Additionally, there is an auto camping site and campground nearby, allowing for camping or car camping. Walking the Daebu Haesol-gil Course 1 offers a distant view of the beach.
