Sihwa Lake is an artificial lake created in Siheung-si, Ansan-si, and Hwaseong-si of Gyeonggi-do. The name Sihwa Lake comes from the first letters of the two ends of the entire seawall, Siheung-si and Hwaseong-si. Sihwa Lake once had many problems due to water pollution, but through continuous water quality improvement and management system establishment, ecological restoration and management of the Sihwa Lake ecosystem, and maximizing resource use in the watershed, it has been systematically managed to become a safe space for citizens. It is now inhabited by natural monument-protected birds such as the whooper swan, bar-tailed godwit, little ringed plover, yellow-billed stork, and black-headed gull, as well as mudflat organisms. The tidal power plant installed in the middle of Sihwa Lake can supply power to households in a city of 500,000 people.

Ansan-si in Gyeonggi-do is the area with the highest number of foreigners, making it a small world within Korea. The Wongok-dong area in Danwon-gu, Ansan-si was designated as a Multicultural Special Zone in 2009. There is also a multicultural food street where you can taste diverse dishes from around the world, so you can enjoy traditional foods from various countries without going abroad. As Wongok-dong was designated as a multicultural special zone, the street scenery began to change gradually. A foreign resident center exclusively for foreigners was established, and even bank names that cannot be written in Chinese characters, like Woori Bank or Hana Bank, have been changed to Chinese characters on their signboards. There are more signs in foreign languages than in Korean on the street, and most people passing by are foreigners. Next to the Wongok Bon-dong Community Service Center, at the Foreign Resident Center, there is also a signpost showing the directions and distances to various countries around the world.
