Hyohaeng Park was established in 1993 to honor King Jeongjo's filial piety. King Jeongjo frequently visited his father's tomb, Yungneung, and lamented how the tomb was clearly visible on the way there but the journey took long. On the return trip, after crossing a hill, the tomb was no longer visible, causing him to linger due to sadness. This gave rise to the name Jijidae Hill, using the character 'ji' (遲, meaning delay) twice. The park commemorates this filial devotion. It features a monument to the French military participation, a mugunghwa (rose of Sharon) tunnel, a children’s ecological art experience center, a filial piety memorial hall, and a statue of King Jeongjo. A well-maintained 5 km pine tree zone offers a beautiful forest path. Hiking trails connect to Gwanggyosan Mountain, and there are walking paths and rest areas, making it a popular spot for citizens year-round.
