Honam Jeilmun, located near Jeonju IC, is the largest Iljumun gate in Korea with a length of 43m, width of 3.5m, and height of 12.4m. It is built in the style of a hanok that harmonizes well with the regional characteristics of Jeonju, and also functions as a pedestrian bridge over an eight-lane road. As the first Iljumun gate encountered by vehicles entering Jeonju, it features large characters reading '湖南 第一門 (Honam Jeilmun)', written by Master Song Seong-yong. The gate is grand and splendid, befitting the meaning of being the number one gate in the Honam region, providing a unique attraction for travelers visiting Jeonju.
