Hongane is a traditional Korean set menu restaurant located in Chipyeong-dong, Gwangju. From the exterior in a hanok building to the interior, every detail, including the decorations, is designed to give the impression of being in a hanok village. The menu changes daily as it only offers seasonal dishes using seasonal ingredients. Main dishes include samhap, spicy saengtaetang (pollack stew), spicy jorim (braised fish), maesaengi (green seaweed), gulbi set meal (dried yellow corvina), jeoneo (gizzard shad), and live octopus, while basic side dishes such as ssam vegetables, namul (seasoned herbs), kodarijorim (braised pollack), grilled gim (laver), and aged kimchi are all delicacies. The spacious parking lot allows for a comfortable visit without parking worries. Nearby are the May 18th Memorial Park and Sangmu Citizen’s Park, making it easy to enjoy linked sightseeing.
