Pungam Lake, built in 1956 to supply agricultural water, was designated as a park in 1975. Various flowers bloom seasonally, with about 140 species of roses and over 20,000 plants cultivated here. Benches offer views of Bonghwangsan in Yongdu-dong and Geumdangsan surrounding the Pungam area. It features rest areas, a small library, and an outdoor performance hall, making it a great place to enjoy culture amid nature. Jeonpyeongje is a reservoir facility located in Maewol-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Gwangyeoksi. The name Jeonpyeongje (前坪堤) appears in the yuhyeobi (a monument to inform or commemorate the traces of sages for future generations) of Hoijae Park Gwangok (1526~1593). It is known that Hoijae created Jeonpyeongje by diverting water from the south side of Gaesan for farming when he was 43 years old. Built in 1943 to supply agricultural water to Maewol-dong and Byeokjin-dong farmlands and to prevent disasters, the neglected reservoir near the city center was developed into a resting area through a national land park pilot project from 1999 to 2002.

It is a beautiful park located within the Sangmu new city apartment complex in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu. The park is equipped with various sports facilities, a lake with scenic water features, an open plaza, a sculpture park, and other landscaping and convenience facilities. The sculpture park extends around the lakeside within Sangmu Citizen Park. Each artwork has landscape lighting installed, allowing visitors to enjoy the fantastic and beautiful works at night. Everyone can touch and interact with the sculptures, providing both 'visual pleasure' and 'experiential enjoyment.' There are also soccer and tennis courts, making it a great park for Gwangju citizens to enjoy leisure activities.
