Donghaksa Temple was founded during the reign of Seongdeokwang of Silla and is famous as a Buddhist training center for nuns. It is said that Sangwonjo-sa built a hermitage during the Silla period, where he practiced asceticism and after his passing, a sibling pagoda was erected there. At that time, the temple was called Cheongryangsa, as it was believed to be the site where Manjusri Bodhisattva descended, but now only the temple site remains along with Sangwonam Hermitage. To honor the founder of Silla and the loyal patriot Park Jae-sang, Donggye Temple (東鷄寺) was built and the temple was expanded, after which the name changed to Donghaksa. Donghaksa houses Samunggak (三隱閣) honoring loyalists of Goryeo, and Sukmojeon (肅慕殿), which enshrines the spirit tablets of King Danjong (端宗) and loyal officials, providing an opportunity to reflect on our history. There is a hiking course connecting the three temples of Gyeryongsan Mountain, and a way to follow the ridges from Geumsubong to several temples of Bingaesan on the Gyeryongsan ridge. Sabiseong is a Korean restaurant operated by Donghak Sanjang Hotel located on the eastern foothills of Gyeryongsan. You can enjoy meals such as sagol ugeojitguk (ox bone and cabbage soup), dried pollack and soybean sprout soup, yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), mountain vegetable bibimbap, bulgogi set menu, as well as grilled dishes like pork belly and smoked duck. It is situated inside a modern newly built hotel building, featuring both a hall and private rooms so guests can dine in a comfortable environment. When using the seminar & workshop package of Donghak Sanjang Hotel, special menus are also available. Nearby the hotel are Gyeryongsan National Park, Donghaksa Temple, and the Korean Natural History Museum.

Yuseong Oncheon District is a large-scale hot spring tourism town located about 11 km west from the old city center of Daejeon, forming the core of Yuseong-gu. Among Korea's 116 hot spring districts, it boasts the oldest history and the largest scale in terms of reserves and usage nationwide. The hot spring water of Yuseong is generated from a granite fault fractured zone composed of 50 to 400 meters, and is a high-temperature hot spring discharged from depths below 200 meters underground, with temperatures ranging from approximately 27 to 56°C. The hot spring water contains about 60 different components, and is a mildly alkaline simple spring with a pH of 7.5 to 8.5. It is especially famous as a silica hot spring due to its silica (SiO2) content exceeding 40 mg/L.
