대전 이응노 미술관은 이 지역이 낳은 세계적인 작가 고암 이응노(1904-1989) 화백의 예술 연구와 전시를 맡아 이 시대 고암 정신을 확장하고 계승할 목적으로 2007년 5월 개관하였다. 이응노의 삶과 예술 활동을 재조명하고, 그의 예술세계를 연구함으로써 한국 미술의 발전에 기여하고자 하는 뜻을 내포하고 있다.

Daejeon Solomon Law Park is a law education theme park operated by the Ministry of Justice. It is a learning center and venue for legal education created and directly operated by the Ministry of Justice so that children, adolescents, and the general public can easily and enjoyably learn and experience the law. It offers various free legal experience and training programs for children, adolescents, and local residents to directly experience the law while playing. Just as King Solomon wisely realized justice through judgment, Solomon Law Park helps build the qualities and knowledge of democratic citizens necessary to create a trusted rule-of-law nation by feeling and experiencing the freedom, wisdom, and justice of a lawful society. The Law Experience Center includes legislative experience rooms, forensic investigation rooms, mock courtroom rooms, and prison experience areas to broadly understand and directly experience the world's legal history and Korea's legal system. A "Beopjjang Village" is also operated for preschool children, and various legal experience and training programs are provided to the public mainly in the Law Experience Center and Law Training Center within Solomon Law Park.

Daejeon Citizen Observatory opened on May 3, 2001, as the first local government astronomical science center and attracts over 100,000 visitors annually. On the 3rd floor observation room, visitors can experience observing the sun's prominences and sunspots during the day, and observe planets, stars, nebulae, and star clusters at night through a celestial telescope. On the 1st floor planetarium, there are seasonal constellation explanations and astronomy-related video screenings, as well as weekend star concerts on Saturdays and Fridays, and poetry and music events under the starlight. The 1st floor corridor hosts the Astro Gallery art exhibition. In 2017, astronomy park creation, parking lot installation, road paving and sidewalks for visitor safety, and installation of slopes in the assistant observation room were completed to enable celestial observations for people with disabilities, along with renovations of photo zones.
