This market organically emerged after the Korean War (6·25) for local residents to barter daily necessities. It operates on the 5th and 10th of every month as a five-day market and is the largest market in Cheorwon-gun where various agricultural and specialty products produced in Cheorwon are sold. It attracts many visitors, including people from the nearby Gyeonggi-do Gwannin-myeon and Pocheon-si. The Cheorwon area produces abundant rice, millet, soybeans, potatoes, wheat, and corn. Particularly, Cheorwon rice has been known for its excellent quality since long ago, and Cheorwon Odaemi rice is quality-certified and supplied even to large corporations.
