The Hwangpototdae Song Monument is located about 800 meters from Jinhae Hwindolme Park toward the Busan direction along Yeonggilman Coastal Tourist Road. The song 'Hwangpototdae,' widely known as a popular ballad, was written by lyricist Lee Il-yoon (pen name Yongil), who is from this area. While stationed at Pobudae in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do, he composed the lyrics on a snowy night in December before his discharge, reminiscing about his hometown sea, Yeonggilman. After his military service, the song was composed by Baek Young-ho and performed by Lee Mi-ja in 1964, becoming a beloved national hit. To commemorate this origin, the Hwangpototdae Song Monument was built along the Yeonggilman road. Measuring 5m wide, 6m long, and 7m high, it was made of granite and bronze by sculptor Lee Chang-heon in 2003, titled . The front of the monument is inscribed with the song lyrics, and the back has an explanation of the work. Pressing a button on the monument plays the song 'Hwangpototdae,' allowing visitors to listen. The road where the monument stands belongs to Namparang-gil Course 6, a beautiful trail, and the area offers surrounding attractions such as Hwindolme Park.
