Yecheon Market is held on 5-day intervals, specifically on the 2nd, 7th, 12th, 17th, 22nd, and 27th. Centered around a permanent market, it extends about 300 meters along the sidewalk past the livestock cooperative, with various street vendors forming the market. The traded items include seafood, vegetables, fruits, grains, medicinal herbs, clothing, and miscellaneous goods. Especially in spring, this traditional market is rich in scents of spring herbs such as wild chives, scallions, mugwort, stonecrop, and various mushrooms gathered directly from the mountains. On market days, farmers bring their directly cultivated agricultural products to sell, allowing purchase of local produce when Chinese goods dominate other markets. Until transportation developed about 10 years ago, the market was packed with out-of-town merchants buying and selling goods, but now it mainly serves local wholesale and retail customers.
