Ulsan Bridge Observatory is located at the summit of Hwajeongsan at a height of 63 meters (203 meters above sea level). From the observatory, you can see Ulsan Bridge, which opened in May 2015 and is the longest single-span suspension bridge in Korea and the third longest in East Asia, as well as the three major industrial complexes of Ulsan—petrochemical, automobile, and shipbuilding—and Ulsan's seven famous mountains. The observatory operates a Dong-gu tourism souvenir gift shop and a café. ◎ Travel information to experience the charm of the Korean Wave - It is a place where you can capture the scenery of Ulsan Bridge featured in the thrilling chase scenes of the drama , which follows Lee Jae, a fixer in a secret organization. It is considered the best place to view Ulsan’s panorama and is especially popular as a nighttime attraction.
Daewangam Park is the location of Daewangam, where the sun rises the earliest in Korea along with Ganjeolgot in Ulju-gun. Daewangam Park, located at the pointed end extending toward the East Sea from the southeastern tip of Korea, is also famous for the Ulgi Navigation Lighthouse that guides ships in the East Sea. The 600-meter path from the park entrance to the lighthouse is shaded by a dense pine forest, offering coolness and coziness under tall century-old pine trees. Beyond the pine woods, the open coastal cliffs resemble a cluster of gigantic rocks, evoking the illusion of prehistoric dinosaur fossils lying in the blue sea. Legend tells that after the death of Queen Munmu, wife of King Munmu who unified the Three Kingdoms of Silla, she became a guardian dragon and sank under Daewangam in the East Sea of Ulsan. Besides Daewangam, the park is filled with sights such as Namgeun Rock, oddly shaped and said to nearly cause harm when attempts were made to topple it, Tanggeon Rock, Suicide Rock, the rocky islet floating near the shore, and Cheonyeobong. On the right side of the rocky coast is the old Bangojin Fisheries Middle School, founded by the late Lee Jong-san, and beneath it extends about 500 meters of pebble beach that enhances the charm of the rocky coastline.
Jujeon Mongdol Beach, one of the 12 scenic spots of Ulsan, is a representative summer beach destination frequently visited by Ulsan citizens. Jujeon means that the land is red, referring to the reddish color of the soil. Mongdol refers to smooth, rounded pebbles. Along 1.5 km of the East Coast shoreline, round black pebbles 3 to 6 cm in diameter are stretched out long, creating a magnificent view. The beach features many unique rocks such as Norang Rock and Saetdol Rock. Additionally, the sound of the waves at Jujeon Mongdol Beach is one of the nine renowned sounds of Dong-gu. The national road running alongside mountains and sea makes an excellent driving course, and there are many nearby attractions, making it also popular as a winter tourist spot.
