Cheongpung Naru was a ferry terminal on Chungpung Lake in Cheongpung-myeon, Jecheon-si, Chungbuk. The exact time of establishment is unknown, but it is believed to have been in use since before the Joseon Dynasty. Before submersion, the river was about 250m wide with strong rapids and shallow water, so boats used poles and rowed across when water level was high. Ferry boats were used by students commuting to Gyori and by locals transporting wood or firewood for sale at Cheongpung market. They carried 60 to 70 passengers per day. With the construction of Chungju Dam forming Chungpung Lake, a dock was established at Cheongpung Naru in September 1984. Cheongpung Naru is the departure and arrival point for cruise ships traveling around Chungpung Lakeside. There is a separate parking lot, so visitors must park before going down to the pier. At the dock, passengers fill out a boarding registration form and submit it with ID at the ticket office to receive a boarding pass. A round trip from Cheongpung Naru to Jangheung Naru takes about one and a half hours, and passengers must be at the pier 30 minutes before departure. Cruises from here allow passengers to enjoy the scenery blended with the lake. The Cheongpung to Janghoe Naru course offers panoramic views of Chungju Bridge, and scenic spots such as Oksunbong, Gudambong, and Geumsusan around Chungpung Lake, attracting many visitors.
Jecheon Sanyacho Village is a village blessed with a natural environment where the ridges of Geumsusan Mountain spread like a screen behind it, and the water flows of Cheongpung Lake in front harmonize refreshingly. Since ancient times, it has been known as the hometown of clear wind and bright moon, home to many wild medicinal herbs and natural pine mushrooms that increase the efficacy of herbs, born from the energy of Geumsusan Mountain and natural waters originating from the mountain. The village is known for natural dyeing using herbs and handicrafts using straw made by skilled artisans. In 1985, most of the village was submerged due to the construction of Chungju Dam, and after the merger of cities and counties on January 1, 1995, it was named Hacheon-ri, Susan-myeon, Jecheon-si. Various medicinal herbs famous for their efficacy grow on Geumsusan, and natural dyeing is done using colors extracted from herbs harvested and dried in season, as well as fragrant herb pouches made by finely cutting herbs. For over 10 years, the villagers have operated diverse healing programs using wild herbs, such as making medicinal herb rice cakes and syrup, dyeing experiences, and tea experiences. Visitors can also enjoy a wild herb set meal made from various herbs produced around Geumsusan. At Yakcho Lifestyle Health in the village, a variety of daily products such as soap, pillows, fragrant pouches, and clothing made from wild herbs are available for purchase. Sanyacho Village, where various herb experiences are possible, features a signboard on a slightly sloping road, with facilities including an experience center and a sales area, serving as a good resting place for walking travelers.
