Seobongsa Valley Village-Managed Recreation Area is a village-managed recreation area located in Seomyeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. The valley flowing in front of Seobongsa Temple, passing through Sinjangdong and Jijangdong at the southern foot of Eungbong Mountain, is called Seobongsa Valley. The green water winding between strange rocks, the dense forest, and the majestic cliffs create a magnificent scenic view. Seobongsa Valley offers a cozy and warm feeling along with coolness, and the sunlight pouring through the pine shade makes it very picturesque. Small valleys are scattered around, with places to enjoy camping using tents and accommodation facilities, making it ideal for family trips. Hiking trails are made on a 200–300m high hill where many pine trees grow, allowing you to enjoy hiking and water activities together. The entire hiking trail is surrounded by numerous pine trees, allowing visitors to enjoy forest bathing as well.
Sambong Log Cabin Lodge in Hongcheon is a restaurant located in Nae-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. It is situated in front of Sambong Natural Recreation Forest and is decorated inside and out entirely with logs like a mountain lodge. It is next to a national road and easy to find, attracting many trekkers and cyclists. The menu includes medicinal water baeksuk (chicken soup) and spicy braised chicken cooked with the beneficial , as well as trout sashimi and spicy freshwater fish stew caught from the nearby Naerincheon River. Light meals such as soybean paste stew, cheonggukjang, and bibimbap are also available. The food menu is operated flexibly, and lodging is also possible. Nearby attractions include Hongcheon Ginkgo Forest, Sutasa Temple, Sambong Medicinal Water Spring, and Sambong Natural Recreation Forest, offering many natural tourist spots.
National Sambong Natural Recreation Forest is a natural recreation forest located in Gwangwon-ri, Naemyeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. It is situated in a dense forest harmonized with conifers such as large fir trees, silver fir, yew, and broadleaf trees like Manchurian walnut and Mongolian oak. The name Sambong comes from the three peaks: Gachilbong, Eungbongsan, and Sasambong. Inside Sambong Natural Recreation Forest, there is Sambong Spring, which is nationally known for being effective for stomach ailments and attracts many visitors. The recreation forest offers forest houses, hiking trails, walking paths, forest bathing areas, water playgrounds, fitness areas, children's playgrounds, auto campgrounds, as well as educational and experiential facilities such as a nature observation center, forest training center, and local botanical garden. It is close to Odaesan National Park and nearby tourist sites like Cheonghakdong Sogeumgang, Woljeongsa and Sangwonsa Temples, Seonjaegil Trail, and Gyebangsan Mountain. Nearby hiking courses include 2 km and 3 km trails from Sambong Spring to Gachilbong peak; using both as a 5 km loop requires about 3 hours. Two forest guides provide forest interpretation twice daily, morning and afternoon. The forest also runs participatory programs such as flower pressing, cypress soap making, sotdae (traditional wooden totem pole) making, and wooden necklace crafting.
Saldun Village is a remote village located in Naemyeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, with a name meaning a ridge suitable for people to rely on. According to the Jeonggamnok prophecy, it is one of the seven places to avoid disasters, known as Samdunsari, and is one of the representative existing villages. Surrounded by Odaesan, Bangtaesan, Gyebangsan, and Seokhwasan mountains, it preserves pristine nature with clean air and pure water from the source of the Naerincheon River. In spring, white pear blossoms bloom; in summer, visitors can enjoy fly fishing and water play in the cool Naerincheon; and in autumn, the entire village is dyed yellow by golden flowers, making it a pleasant place for walking. The village operates Saldun Camping Site and log cabin pensions. At Saldun Branch School Camping Site, the closed school is utilized for camping and tractor sightseeing rides, and the log cabin pension was selected as one of Korea's 100 Beautiful Houses. Visitors can enjoy fly fishing, walking on scenic trails, and bicycle trekking, offering a variety of experiences. Nearby natural attractions include Sambong Recreation Forest, Ginkgo Tree Forest, Saldun Valley, Munamgol, and Ssangmun Waterfall, making it a good area to explore with the village. It is an unspoiled hidden scenic spot and an ideal place for modern people to heal and rest.
