Hwajeong Central Park is located within a 5-minute walk from Hwajeong Station on Line 3. It is also called Hippo Park because there is a hippo statue inside and a flea market called Hama Market is held here. From April to November, Hama Market, which is short for Handmade Market, is held every other week for a total of 4 days at Hwajeong Central Park and Deogyang-gu Office Street. Usually, it is not crowded, making it a quiet place. There is a fountain playground where children can cool off and play excitedly. The walking paths are well-developed, allowing visitors to stroll peacefully and enjoy leisure time. The park has many shaded areas for resting along the way, making it ideal for a light walk. The water playground’s ground fountain operates on a set schedule, so it is recommended to check the times before visiting. The park is open from all directions, with a ground fountain playground located in the center. Near the fountain are shaded benches and restrooms, but no showers, so guardians are advised to bring towels and changes of clothes from home. Additionally, since the water depth varies slightly, guardians should closely watch children to prevent accidents and help avoid surprising infants with sudden water sprays from above or below. Water quality is well maintained, and convenience stores and large markets nearby make it convenient for shopping or snacks.
