Goheung Haechangman is a bay located on the eastern side of the Goheung Peninsula. The name 'Haechangman' comes from a grain warehouse used to store taxes collected as grain in the southern part of Heungyang-hyeon during the Joseon Dynasty. The rice produced in Haechangman is sold under the names Haemi and Sumi. Near the embankment, there are an auto camping site and Haechangman Park. Additionally, there are an outdoor performance hall and walking trails that provide a comfortable resting space for tourists. In front is a freshwater lake, and behind is the sea, making it a good fishing location.
Byeolnaro Village is a village located in the southeastern part of Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, at the southernmost tip of the Korean Peninsula, shaped like a turtle island embracing the Dadohae Sea. It has a beautiful landscape where terraced fields and the sea harmonize, and due to the reclamation of Haechangman, it holds large-scale farmland and tidal flats, offering abundant experiences and food utilizing the vast sea and tidal flats. Byeolnaro Village is popular for pension accommodations and tidal flat experience packages, and seafood harvested through the tidal flat experience can be cooked and eaten immediately. Exploring the Dadohae Sea by boat around the village’s front sea is also popular.
Maboksan is 535 meters high and is named because its shape resembles a lying horse. The ridges have many small branch ridges covered with blooming rock flowers, giving the impression of a miniature Geumgangsan or Seoraksan. With many bizarre rocks such as Water Seal Rock and Turtle Rock, Maboksan is also called Sogeulgolsan (小皆骨山). Located on Maboksan, the Maboksan Wood Culture Experience Center was established in 2014 to provide knowledge and information about wood and to offer hands-on opportunities to the general public, promoting the importance of wood culture. Facilities include a comprehensive experience room, wooden structure exhibition hall, and traditional house experience center, with various hands-on programs available.
Geumtapsa Temple is a temple located midway up Cheondeungsan Mountain in Podu-myeon, near Goheung-eup. It is said to have been founded by Monk Wonhyo, although there is no definite evidence. The temple's name, Geumtapsa, refers to a stupa built by King Ayuk of India. It was burned during the Japanese invasions of 1592–1598 but was rebuilt in 1603 by Monks Gung-hyeon and Ok-sun. However, in the 18th year of King Sukjong's reign (1692), it burned down again, leaving only the Geungnakjeon Hall. Existing buildings include Geungnakjeon, Myeongbujeon, Samseonggak, Beomjonggak, and the monks' quarters, and it houses the valuable Gwaebultang (a large Buddhist painting). The dense Bija forest surrounding the temple is a natural monument, with abundant Bija trees growing both around Geumtapsa and its hermitages, creating a magnificent view.
Located in Geogeumdo, Geumsan-myeon, Goheung-gun, it lies at the foot of Jeokdaebong. Geogeum Ecological Forest was established in 2009 with a total area of 1 million pyeong and is easily accessible via Sorok Bridge and Geogeum Bridge. Various types of trees and grasses grow here, and facilities such as wildflower colonies, forest observation trails, and a suspension bridge make it a popular spot for healing and ecological education. Jeokdaebong is in the southern subtropical island area of Korea, home to 11 native subtropical species such as Hupak and Ipab, featuring unique flora and fauna and high plant ecological value. To enhance conservation and management functions and provide experiential learning for youth, it was developed over four years from 2008 to 2011. At the entrance to the forest trail is the Forest Love Promotion Center, which displays materials about subtropical plants. The forest has a circuit trail starting at a pavilion, with routes going counterclockwise over a suspension bridge and ridge back to the pavilion, and another route crossing a left-side bridge clockwise. Nearby is Geogeumdo Cheongseok Auto Camping Site.
