From Uje-bong Observatory, you can overlook the natural beauty of Haegeumgang. On both sides of the observatory, there are photo zones where you can capture beautiful scenery and take memorable photos. There is also a telescope to closely observe the Haegeumgang area. The path to the summit of Uje-bong alternates between decked and uneven trails, so comfortable shoes are recommended. It is 107 meters above sea level and takes about 30 minutes to reach at a slow pace. The trail is neither too steep nor difficult, so it is accessible for all ages. This area is a designated zone of Hallyeohaesang National Park where cooking and camping are prohibited, so special attention is required. ◎ Travel info to enjoy the charm of the cold currents - At Geoje Uje-bong Observatory, where Haegeumgang and Uje-bong can be viewed at a glance, you can see the actual backdrop of the final scene featuring character Park Pyungho in the movie . The scenic Haegeumgang, one of Korea's top 40 scenic spots, and the dense camellia forest trail are trademarks of Geoje Uje-bong Observatory.
Maengjong bamboo, also known as Honam bamboo, Juksun bamboo, Japanese bamboo, and Mo bamboo, is the thickest bamboo with a height of 10 to 20 meters and a diameter of about 20 cm. Geoje Maengjong Bamboo Theme Park is a bamboo forest therapy space that offers healing and experiences using this Maengjong bamboo and the natural environment. Visitors can experience healing through bamboo forest bathing by utilizing and preserving Maengjong bamboo, as well as landscape therapy that combines sea views and environmental art. Adventure forest experiences with fun and thrills, such as survival games, are popular among youth.
Geoje Maemiseong is a fortress wall built by Baek Sun-sam, who lost his livelihood due to Typhoon Maemi in 2003, to protect his farmland from natural disasters. After the farmland was lost to the typhoon, he personally stacked square stones one by one near the beach and filled the gaps with cement, building the fortress alone over a long period. Maemiseong, born this way, is not just a simple breakwater or fence but has a unique appearance reminiscent of medieval Europe. It creates a rare exotic atmosphere, and thanks to this distinctive scenery, Maemiseong has become one of Geoje's tourist attractions, with many photo spots throughout, making it a popular place for visitors to take memorable photos.
