Donggok Market has served as the commercial hub of the Cheongdo Sandong area since its opening in 1930 and flourished most in the 1960s and 1970s. Notably, Donggok Cattle Market is the only livestock market in the county, dealing with about 60 to 70 Korean native cattle daily. Originally located at the intersection of Sinji 2-ri, Geumcheon-myeon, it was later opened in front of the old Geumcheon-myeon office in Donggok-ri and moved to its current location in the early 1960s. On June 1, 1995, the market building was rebuilt with modern panels. The market operates on the 1st and 6th of every month as a five-day market.
