Changwon Hyanggyo | 観光地情報 | K-Travel Mate

The original establishment of Changwon Hyanggyo is estimated to have been during the early Joseon period under King Taejong. In 1748 (the 25th year of King Yeongjo's reign), the site was chosen facing south beneath Taeulsan, and the magistrate Lee Yundeok gathered public opinion to move and rebuild it in January 1749. During the Joseon era, it received land, documents, and slaves from the state, and one instructor taught 30 students. However, after the Gabo Reform and the implementation of the new education system, it ceased educational functions, holding Seokjeon rites in spring and autumn, and incense offerings on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month. Daeseongjeon Hall is designated as a tangible cultural asset of Gyeongsangnam-do, and the preserved documents, including Joseon Cheonggeumrok, Hyangni Yakbeop, Gyeyakjangjeong, and Cheonggeumrok, are valuable materials for researching the local history of this region.
